Wheel Balancing
At Brownings Garage, we balance wheels accurately across a wide range of vehicles and tyre sizes -including low-profile tyres, which are more sensitive to imbalance and require particular care during the balancing process.
Wheel balancing is one of those jobs that makes an immediate, noticeable difference. An out-of-balance wheel creates vibration that travels through the steering wheel and floor – often most pronounced at motorway speeds – and causes uneven tyre wear that shortens the life of the tyre significantly.
It’s a quick, straightforward job, and one that should be carried out whenever new tyres are fitted and checked periodically thereafter.
Signs your wheels may need balancing:
After we’ve fitted new tyres
Every new tyre should be balanced when it’s fitted – no exceptions. A tyre that leaves the factory isn’t perfectly uniform, and the combined weight distribution of the tyre, wheel, and valve requires balancing to run smoothly. We balance all tyres as standard at the point of fitting, and we use the correct weight type for your wheel finish, whether that’s alloy, steel, or a finish that requires adhesive weights.
